Zuka Guide

Zuka

Zuka is a fighter who has mastered the essence of the Chinese Kung-Fu and can boost his attack damage using the chi. Although he appears a bit chubby, Mobility is his greatest strength since all of Zuka abilities can charge a distance he can shuttle back and forth in battles while blocking damage using his shield. Don’t overlook Zuka’s control abilities once a squishy target is locked down by Zuka he has no hope of escape.

Abilities

Passive – The Chi

Every 20 seconds, dealing damage to an enemy hero Triggers Zuka’s chi, increasing his attack damage for the next eight seconds. Notice that whenever Zuka’s body glows he is in the effect of the chi.

Ability 1 – Pain on a Stick

Zuka raises his bamboo staff and charges forward dealing physical damage to nearby enemies. This ability can be used again within 5 seconds of the first use and each use enhances Zuka’s next normal attack increasing its range and dealing additional physical damage. Pain on a stick can be used twice within 5 seconds so remember to use normal attacks while casting the ability in order to hit the enhanced normal attack twice.

Ability 2 – Panda Chariot

Zuka rolls forward dealing physical damage to enemies along the way. Upon a successful hit, Zuka gains a shield that absorbs damage for 2.5 seconds and enhances his next normal attack to deal an additional physical damage and send enemies flying for 0.75 seconds. This knock up effect can be used to interrupt enemy spells. Be careful that the shield only lasts for 2.5 seconds so use it wisely to absorb enemy’s damage.

Ultimate – Sky Fall

Zuka leaps up and crashes his enemies from above dealing physical damage to enemies in the target area and stunning them for 1 second it also enhances his next normal attack to deal additional physical damage to nearby enemies. Skyfall is Zuka’s primary control ability and can be cast from a brush to increase the hit rate.

Zuka is fun to play but harder to master. Every time Zuka uses an ability his next normal attack will be enhanced so try to weave in normal attacks between abilities to maximize his damage. As a fighter, Zuka is suited to farm in the top lane.

Try to block damage using his shield in the landing phase in order to increase his sustainability in lane. The exceptional mobility from his abilities can help him escape from enemy’s ganks. In the mid and late game, there are two ways to play Zuka.

If the game is going in Zuka favor he can initiate team fights using Skyfall then absorb damage utilizing the shields from Panda Chariot. When Zuka is low in health he can escape the battle easily thanks to his great mobility. However, if the game is going in the other team’s favor Zuka should stay with allies and protect the backline from enemy Assassins by using Panda Chariot and Skyfall. This way the carries can stay safe and maximize their damage output ensuring an easy victory.

Lore

“A true warrior defends the weak and punishes the evil.”

Zuka was born in a beautiful and prosperous village. It was a hive of activity during the day, but quiet and tranquil during the night. It was a place where people were sheltered from the hardship and misery of the world. However, the one thing that inhabitants of this serene place valued above all else was martial arts. Despite being a young cub, Zuka had to study all manner of combat styles and ascend through the grades by passing the examinations set by his teacher.

The young Zuka could not understand why he needed to do this. AFter all, why should he spend so much time and effort learning martial arts that he would never need to use? Surely it would be better to help work the fields or engage in scholarly pursuits? In response to Zuka’s question, the teacher responded, “It is not enough to simply wish for peace, one must have the ability to defend peace!”

Those words left a deep impression on him. When the fallen souls that emerged from the demon abyss spread plague and chaos across the land, the once peaceful village was mercilessly engulfed in the flames of war. In an effort to flee, the young Zuka embarked on a long journey with his family, crossing treacherous mountains as they made their way to the legendary forest of shadows.

Zuka had heard about the FOrest of Shadows in the stories told by the older villagers. Not only was it home to the legendary Elven Queen, Tel’Annas, but there was also countless elemental and orc warriors. They were the Queen’s valiant army, charged with defending the land from evil.

During the journey, Zuka witness all manner of depraved acts perpetrated by the fallen souls. The martial arts that he had practiced for so many years finally had a use. Wearing armor symbolizing his coming of age, and wielding a staff he made with his own two hands,s he fought countless battles against evil and saved those who had suffered at their hands.

Tales of Zuka’s heroic exploits spread far and wide. From the noble and proud Temple of Light to the Castle of Inception, which has long been suspicious of animal races, all factions publicly commended Zuka’s heroism. Even Queen Tel’Annas herself prepared a lavish welcome ceremony in his honor. Then, at the invitation of Earth Elemental Lumburr, Zuka formally joined the resistance warmly, becoming a warrior with a duty to eradicate evil and protect the peace.

No matter where Zuka may be, he is an undisputed symbol of peace!
