Best Boss Fight Strategies

Hello brawlers today I will be talking about the best Boss Fight strategies, both as the boss and against the boss. Hopefully these tips will enable you to maximize your rewards. Enjoy!

General Information

Lasting 2:15 or more will be a victory for the boss. Anything less will be a victory for everyone taking down the boss.

Robo Rumble is more profitable than Boss Fight, as it is easier to get the maximum rewards. When you get higher in trophies in Boss Fight, you face harder opponents meaning you won’t last as long. Alternatively, the AI in Robo Rumble stays the same regardless of trophies.

The time possible as the boss is capped at 8 minutes, whereas Robo Rumble doesn’t have a time limit (from what he have seen so far).

The boss has extra speed, damage, and health. It cannot regenerate health and all healing mechanisms such as Mortis’s super or Pam’s healing station provide reduced health.

Strategies as the Boss

Pick off the enemies 1 or 2 at a time. If you try to kill them all at once, they will easily surround you and deal a lot of damage in a short period of time.

Know the ins and outs of the map. This will help when you are escaping the enemy team. If you got trapped in a corner then it will be hard to escape and you will take plenty of damage.

Dodge a lot and use walls to your advantage. If the enemy team doesn’t have a Barley or Dynamike, hiding behind walls will force your enemies to go around them and right into your line of fire. Dodging can also greatly minimize the amount of damage you take over the course of the match. Brawlers such as Crow and Mortis are exceptionally good at this, making them difficult to hit and frustrating to chase.

Always be on the move; be unpredictable. This will keep your opponents guessing the entire game, and save you a couple extra seconds. Furthermore, when you are extremely low on health, don’t give up. You can still survive for another 10 seconds by dodging the enemy attacks.

Beware that brawlers such as Pam, Poco, and Mortis have their healing nerfed in this game mode to ensure that they are not broken. Contrastingly, both Jessie’s turret and Nita’s bear are insanely strong. They buy a ton of time and are such a nuisance to the opposing team.

Try to maximize the time it takes the enemy brawlers to reach you. This means staying on the opposite side of the map from their spawn. Have your opponents come to you.

Strategies against the Boss

Spread out. This is extremely vital if the boss is a Barley or another brawler that can deal splash damage. Not only will this make you die less often, but also charge the boss’s super slower. Similarly, cover all escape options. This will lead to the boss being trapped and forced to fight one side or the other. If everyone on your team passes through one lane, then the enemy Crow, for example, could easily run in the other direction and burn time.

Force the boss out of their comfort zone. This is especially true against Barley again. If they don’t have walls to hide behind, they will be at a great disadvantage. Pushing the boss to the middle of the map will also decrease it times to reach the boss’s location upon re-spawning.

The fastest way to take out the boss is to trap them in a corner. Even if they escape, they will have taken massive damage from your teammates. However, this doesn’t mean that you just rush right into the enemy boss. Make sure to keep your distance, especially if you are a low-health brawler. Keep poking at the boss, especially if that are a close-range brawler like Primo or Bull.

Keep track of the boss’s super. Having this awareness can keep you alive in many situations. Many powerful super’s such as Barley’s & Shelly’s, and even “weaker” ones such as Crow’s and Spike’s can instantly kill you. Staying alive is essential because it can save you the 10 seconds of re-spawning and running back to the boss’s base.

Predict the boss’s moves and recognize his patterns. If the enemy boss continue to do the same actions such as running to a certain spot of the field or hiding in a specific bush, adapt to his strategy and predict his moves. Over the course of the match you can familiarize yourself with the boss’s moves, such as if he bothers to dodge often or not.

Tier List

In my tier list below, I have listed the general strengths and weaknesses of each brawler, not necessarily every stat or aspect about them. Be aware that I made this tier list assuming each brawler is maxed, and that they have their star power. Additionally, while it is quite easy to get 8 minutes with Mortis at 0 trophies, this is not the case at high level gameplay. That is why I am basing this tier list off of a more practical range of 300+ trophies.
